Movement and Transmission of Resistant and Infxous Organisms

The MATRIX study is a VA Clinical Sciences Research and Development (CSRD)-funded project funded through 2025. It is a multisite study occurring in 3 VA Community Living Centers (CLCs) with two project aims:

1. To characterize transmission of MDROs at 3 VA CLCs and depict the role of out-of-room visits for medical appointments and recreation in MDRO transmission across the institution (Years 1 & 2)

2. To develop and pilot an educational intervention involving Veterans, their families, healthcare personnel (HCP) as well as leadership to reduce transmission and infections (Years 3 & 4)
