Kyle Gontjes, MPH
A native of Grand Rapids, Kyle graduated from Calvin College in 2017 with a BS in Biology. Kyle followed his passion for infection prevention to the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where he completed his MPH in Hospital & Molecular Epidemiology in 2020. Currently, Kyle is a PhD student at the University of Michigan studying Microbiology & Immunology. During his time at University of Michigan, he has worked with in Dr. Lona Mody's lab, focusing on antimicrobial stewardship, bacterial transmission, and infection prevention in both hospitals and nursing homes.

Skylar Zeng
Public Health, Epidemiology MPH - Student
Skylar is a rising second-year MPH student in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and is on track to complete the Certificate of Healthcare Infection Prevention and Control. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. She is interested in applying biostatistical/epidemiologic data analytics to infectious disease prevention and control. As a CRIISP intern, she assists with microbiology testing, data analysis on multidrug-resistant organisms, antibiotic usage, and infection control measures. Outside of academics, she loves playing badminton, fitness, and piano.
