Kyle Gontjes, MPH

A native of Grand Rapids, Kyle graduated from Calvin College in 2017 with a BS in Biology. Kyle followed his passion for infection prevention to the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where he completed his MPH in Hospital & Molecular Epidemiology in 2020. Currently, Kyle is a PhD student at the University of Michigan studying Microbiology & Immunology. During his time at University of Michigan, he has worked with in Dr. Lona Mody's lab, focusing on antimicrobial stewardship, bacterial transmission, and infection prevention in both hospitals and nursing homes.

Trent Behunin, BS

Trent graduated from Utah State University in 2020 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Human Biology. He is now pursuing an MPH in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, along with working on completing a certificate in Healthcare Infection Prevention and Control. Outside of school, he enjoys reading, playing FIFA, and doing anything outdoors.

Morgan Harris, BS

Morgan is originally from New Hampshire but received her undergraduate degree in Public Health with a minor in Biology from UNC Wilmington. She is now pursuing a MPH in Hospital and Molecular Epidemiology at the Michigan School of Public Health. She is also on tract to complete the certification in Infection Prevention and Control. She is interested in infectious diseases, infection prevention and emergency preparedness, but has always had a passion for microbiology lab work since undergrad. Outside of class and lab work she also fixes computers at UMich Tech Repair and enjoys traveling and seeing new places with friends.

Ryan Wang

Ryan is currently an incoming first-year student at Yale University. He is passionate about applying statistics and computer science in the world of economics and finance. Currently, he plans on pursuing a double major in Computer Science + Economics and Applied Mathematics. Outside of academics, he loves to play tennis with friends and binge watch shows.
