The Center for Research and Innovations In Special Populations (CRIISP), led by Dr. Lona Mody, applies translational epidemiologic research methods to enhance disease outcomes in vulnerable populations. Our projects utilize a variety of research methods from observational and molecular epidemiology, clinical trials to implementation science with an explicit attention to mentoring junior investigators in research leadership.
Meet the CRIISP Lab Team
The CRIISP Lab team, led by Dr. Lona Mody, brings together a multidisciplinary group of researchers, including a research assistant professor, research coordinator, statistician, and dedicated students, working collaboratively to advance impactful health research.
CRIISP Lab’s Dr. Lona Mody, together with her coauthors, is featured on the latest ICHE Podcast discussing the newly released Multisociety Guidance for Infection Prevention and Control in Nursing Homes. The guidance—developed by SHEA in collaboration with APIC, IDSA, PALTmed, and the American Geriatrics Society—updates the 2008 SHEA/APIC long‑term care infection prevention guideline.
Excited to share new guidance on preventing and controlling infections in nursing homes! Congratulations to all the authors and SHEA staff on this important publication. Please read, share, and help us disseminate these best practices widely! #MichiganMedicine, #SHEA, #AGS, #IDWeek, #ECCMID, #APIC, #PALTC-AMDA,
